EDITORS NOTE: The following letter was emailed to the congregation on April 20.
Dear West End Family,
Before Easter Sunday fades into our rearview mirror, I want to take a moment to reflect and express my heartfelt thanks to each of you.
On Sunday we experienced West End’s highest single service attendance–about 1,200 people! More than 1,800 heard the gospel at 235 White Bridge Road, many of whom were guests.
Our 10:30 a.m. service reached capacity within minutes and overflow rooms began to open. Then our overflow rooms reached capacity and we had to find more spaces for worshippers. Many of you worshiped with us from hallways, classrooms, and even The Hanger!
What I will remember most though is how joyful so many of you were—giving up your seats for visitors, creating makeshift spaces to worship, and staying long after to fellowship.
In my 25 years as a pastor, I have not experienced anything like what I witnessed on Easter Sunday. To God be the Glory! He sure seems to be up to something at West End.
I’m so grateful to be your partner in the gospel as we labor together!
Yours for making disciples of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth,
Carter Crenshaw
Senior Pastor
