One of the ways West End cares for Nashville is through UpRise, a ministry focused on helping our friends and neighbors rise out of poverty by learning new job skills and building lasting relationships. UpRise is much more than a program, though. It’s a way of putting our faith into practice by replicating how the early church cared for each other.

UpRise participants, who we call Leaders, go through an intensive six-week training camp that builds soft skills, computer literacy, effective communication, life skills, overcoming individualized barriers and more. After completing the course, Leaders have gone on to hold jobs at Vanderbilt University, Google, Nashville MTA, Asurion, PhyMed and others.
