About this ministry

In Sprouts, West End’s nursery, we plant seeds of Jesus’ love by teaching your little one bible stories and how to pray, while also providing a fun craft or activity so your child’s earliest memories of church are happy ones.

Have questions? Please see the FAQs below or email Darah.

Ministry Questions

The children will be taught a Bible story and be led in prayer. They will experience an activity and a craft that connect with the Bible lesson.

We serve newborns through 2-year olds.

Sprouts is offered during both services at 9 and 10:30 a.m.

Yes! All volunteers are thoroughly vetted, background checked and trained to make sure your child receives the best care in the safest environment.

Ours is a well-child ministry, so please be sure your kids are free of the following symptoms for 24 hours: fever, runny nose, chronic cough, throat infections, diarrhea or any contagious illness. Each room will be thoroughly cleaned before and after children’s programming.

We will contact you by text or, if necessary, by calling. Please keep your phone on vibrate in the worship center so we can easily reach you.

Yes! Room 253 is available for mothers to nurse their children. We have a changing station, nursing pillows and a TV so you can continue to worship.

Please bring diapers and extra clothing for your child. All pacifiers, lovies and blankets should also be labeled.

We offer Goldfish crackers and water for two-year-olds.

Drop-Off: Parents will use the kiosk in the nursery hallway to print child’s name tag and parent badge. Parents will then escort children to their classrooms.

Visitors should stop by the Nursery Desk to receive a child nametag and parent badge.

Children’s ministry volunteers will be ready to assist you with check-in and finding your child’s classroom!

Pick-Up: Parents will pick up children in their classrooms. A parent badge must be presented to the teacher in order for a child to be picked up. If parents are picking up children of different classrooms be sure to tear the parent badge in half so each parent receives a sticker.

If you have lost your parent badge, you must retrieve a new one from the nursery desk.

We believe baptism is a beautiful picture of God’s covenant and would love to walk through this sacrament with you. We do require one parent to be a member of West End in order to baptize your child. Please contact Diane to schedule your child’s baptism.

Please email Mary Berndt, Children’s Ministry Director, to begin the process of becoming a volunteer. Once the application has been processed, you will be trained prior to serving in the classroom.
