McKissack Middle School is one of our neighborhood schools, and a Hope for Nashville partner. As a Priority Title 1 school, over 90% of the kids come from single family homes, have free or reduced lunch and walk to school.
We are excited for the opportunity to support our partners at McKissack by filling new backpacks with school supplies for over 300 students, as well as providing uniform clothing items.
Please bring all contributions to a receiving area at the Discipleship entrance Sundays July 18, July 25 and Aug. 1, any time from 9 a.m. to noon.
To ensure students have what they need to succeed, please fill a new backpack with:
• Notebook paper
• Binder and divider tabs
• Composition notebooks
• Spiral notebook
• Folder w/prongs
• Folders with pockets
• Individual pencil sharpener
• Pencil pouch or pencil box
• Black or blue ink pens
• #2 Pencils
• Scissors
Other items that would greatly benefit students and teachers are below. Feel free to add these to your backpack:
• Colored pencils
• Markers
• Crayons
• Glue Sticks
• Dry Erase Markers
• Graph paper
• Index cards
• Flash drive
McKissack kids will also need new uniform polo shirts. If you are able to help, they need:
• Colors: white, grey, blue and gold
• Sizes: children’s L and adult S/M/L
